Awarded degrees
The International MERIT Master is structured as a set of double degree agreements. After successful completion of the MERIT academic programme, MERIT graduates will receive a diploma entitled Master of Science in Research on Information and Communication Technologies and the official Master degrees from the two universities that he/she attended.
To ensure quality, around 40 students per year are admitted to each institution of the MERIT consortium.
General admission conditions are :
- A bachelor degree in engineering or science (1st Recommendation of Helsinki Conference)
- Study and academic merits
- Motivation
- English requirements: Minimum MERIT score 3.

MERIT fees and student scholarship program
MERIT Program fees for the 2010/11 academic year (two semesters) are the following:
- EU students: 2500 €
- Non-EU students 5000 €
The fees cover the academic, administrative and mobility organization of the doble degree program. No other fees are required by the program.
MERIT offers 9 student scholarships per year to highly qualified Category A (non-European) students and 5 to Category B (European) students, within the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship programme (*)(**). Application to the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship programme is performed on-line by means of the MERIT Erasmus Mundus Online Application Tool (MEAT). This application tool is exclusively available when the Call for Erasmus Mundus Scholarship Programme is open. Please, see Next events and/or information below for details related to the Call.
(*) Total amount for Category A students: €32.000. Duration: 2 years. Eligibility: Non-EU students. Restrictions. No more than a total of 12 months residence over the last five years in any of the UE member countries. A maximum of 3 applications per student to different Erasmus Mundus Master Courses is allowed.
(**) Total amount for Category B students: €12.000. Duration: 2 years. Eligibility: EU students. A maximum of 3 applications per student to different Erasmus Mundus Master Courses is allowed.
